Narayana has a history as a freelancer in the creative industry, particularly within the arts and cultural sector. Usually for clients in the Amsterdam region when it involves photography. Besides this he worked as a lightdesigner in the cities of Rotterdam and Utrecht at cultural and stage events. During a study at the KABK in the Hague his DJ skills were heard during the rise of contemporary electronic music. Imagery and media related to image and sound are his nature, a world without it is unthinkable.
Through collaborations, at first with photographer Nadine Stijns, fashion designer Mada van Gaans and later on the Dutch Fashion Foundation and the Amsterdam International Fashion Week (1st edition) a network started to grow within fashion. In the following years his commisioned photography for the National Ballet were nominated for the Theatre Poster Prize of the Theatre Institute Netherlands.
In the summer of 2011, he was a proactive web editor for BLEND Magazine; and as a result of producing and editing content, he adviced on design and functionality to underline plans for a transition from print to electronic publications—which hopefully will not happen; printed media evokes a much longer lasting and deeper effect on the experience of the viewers. ‘Photographie Internationale de la Mode’ is an independent platform specifically related to the fashion & arts, photography & film, new media & disciplines which may exceed these limits… founded by Narayana.
The portfolio: network, marketing strategy for online and new media, international communication, creative concepts and project management. In the creative industry his work ranges from music production through digital photography and film to webdesigning with WordPress CMS. After being educated at ‘Segbroek College’ Highschool and the ‘Royal Academy of Arts’ in the Hague, the best masters courses were found while working as an assistant, light designer, sound engineer, photographer and editor over the past 17 years. Ambitions in the next years are to be an (art-)director without degrading his achieved skills to a forgotten past.
